Analysis:
The first half of the movie has traces of Chandrakala and is the major drawback of the film. Frankly saying the director failed to narrate the film in an engaging way including the needed thrills and horror elements. The songs have been the major barriers and they can be completely trimmed during the first half as not even a single song has been catchy and melodious. On the whole the complete first half has been just ok with entertainment and interesting elements.
The second half is the complete game changer and the film has been back to track at the much needed time. The complete second half has been handled well with loads of entertainment and horror episodes elevating the film well. The intense moments during the climax has been stupendous and it takes the film to the next level. On the whole Kalavathi is a film that will end up impressive because of its second half.
Performance:
Siddarth has done a decent job and he has done a supporting role in the film which is quite crucial. His performance has been decent throughout. Hansika is the major highlight of the movie and she has been stupendous with her limited screen space. Trisha has been superb in two different variations and she impresses with her glamour in the first half after which she takes down the responsibility to scare the audience. Kovai Sarala and Suri bring out the much needed entertainment in the movie. All the other actors have been good in their roles.
